I’m in transition again y'all_ Introducing Foot Out The Door; My new business venture

I’m in transition again! 

That’s right, you heard me, I’m in transition yet again - I know I’m the transition queen but even this one seems like a BIG transition. 

I’m pivoting my business 🤯🤭 

I know, even as I said, I also gasped. LOL - if this isn’t a move of God, I don’t know what it is. 

Ok, for context, I've been in the talent space since 2015, so 10 years! I’ve been in recruitment, talent management, career consulting, talent advisory, managing a team of career coaches, and then full-time entrepreneurship as a career coach. 

I’ve worked with all levels - students, new grads, mid-career professionals, first-time managers, and executives.

I’ve worked with all demographics - black professionals, newcomers to Canada, people with disabilities, women, and type A MBAs.

I’ve worked across industries - tech, finance, health care, government relations, non-profit, post-secondary, creative industries like film & media, and everything in between. 

I’ve worked in many contexts - from helping students get co-op jobs, to supporting newcomers with translating their international experience, to helping black interns get settled in their first jobs, to walking over-tired first time managers through building team strategy, supporting startups with their first hire and helping people navigate, heal and recover from burnout. 

And the ONE thing that has always drawn me in; is the idea of PASSIONATE people building the life they want to see and making an impact along the way! 

Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE my job and by extension, I love people. No matter what season of life I find myself in, I will always gravitate to this work and it’s not just in my business. In writing this blog and the subsequent book, in my relationships with my friends & family,with my personal brand on LinkedIn and every podcast and stage I'm invited to speak on - People are my purpose. 

To see them transformed, to show them another way to do life, to share my vulnerability in the hopes that it allows them to be seen and to allow them to experience the joy of the lord through me. It is truly an honor that I don't take lightly. 

So without further, I'm in transition and this time, I'm coming for the BUILDERS! The innovators, the entrepreneurs, the teachers, the coaches, the experts, and the impact generators who are ready to stop playing small and start stepping into what God has called them to do. 

I know you're scared BUT it's time to take up space. I know this because I am YOU. 

I have the passion 

I have the skills 

I have the expertise 

I have the knowledge 

I have the capacity 

I have the gifts and talents 

I have the work ethic 

I have the spirit of excellence 

BUT for many years,

I also had the fear, 

the scarcity mentality, 

the fear of success, 

the self-doubt, 

the comparison 

the lack of motivation

the feeling of being an imposter 

the tendency to burnout 

And in spite /because of these things, I'm doing it anyway. 

What qualifies me to do this work you ask? 

For 1, I have an MBA in entrepreneurship and social innovation 

For 2, I supported 9 founders in 2024 but I didn’t advertise it 

For 3, I have 8 years experience of personal experience building a business 

For 4, I’m sick and tired of helping people navigate toxic work environments ONLY to end up in another corporate gig that drains their soul. 

So without further ado, I present you with Foot Out The Door; a brand dedicated to helping corporate guys & girls as well as budding entrepreneurs, transform their expertise & skills into profitable side hustles & entrepreneurial ventures. 

Let’s face it,

•  The job market right now is a bit of a mess; there are layoffs happening left, right & centre and in 2025, you can’t really afford to not be building something on the side.

• The creator economy saw a 22% increase to over $250billion in 2024 and is forecasted to be worth around $1,480 billion by 2034 

• The corporate world is also becoming more toxic by the day with return-to-office mandates, rampant burnout and systems that don’t favor underrepresented individuals while asking people to continue to do WAYYY more with so much less. 

Although all those reasons are valid, that’s NOT why I am here; I'm simply because I'm trying to be Obedient to God. He put this idea in my heart and gave me this name back in 2021 and over the years, I have stalled, ignored, and forgotten this mandate ....but not anymore. 

I heard from Him;  

• My people are playing small and they NEED to break out of the mold but they need to see what’s possible 

• My people are getting lost in the sauce of work/life and are not building anything but merely surviving the rat race 

• Some of them are suffering from “perfectionism” and are waiting for ALL the stars to align before they take a step 

• Some of them are jumping in prematurely without a strategy or a plan and falling on their faces

• Some of them are stuck in analysis paralysis and can't move forward

• Some of them have buried their talents like that guy in that parable who did NOTHING with the talent he was given and God called him wicked 👀

If this is you, there’s hope! It’s never too late….let this serve as my testimony that you can absolutely step out even when you’re scared, unsure, and overwhelmed. God has you! 

So with all that being said; it’s launch day AND I'm so beyond excited to support you all.
